Our Founding Story
NanoCuprum was founded through an unlikely intersection of medicine, engineering, and shared curiosity about the role of technology in improving human health.
The company’s co-founders, Dr. Fernando Moya and Jeffrey Holland, first met in a neonatal intensive care unit, where Dr. Moya was caring for Holland’s premature child. What began as a physician–parent relationship evolved into a friendship grounded in mutual respect and a shared interest in the intersection of medical science, engineering, and emerging technologies.
Through continued discussions, they discovered a common belief that innovative materials and technologies have the potential to address some of the most persistent challenges related to microbial contamination in both medical and environmental systems.
This shared perspective ultimately led them to explore opportunities to advance antimicrobial nanocopper technologies and bring them into practical applications across multiple industries.
NanoCuprum was created to serve as a bridge between scientific innovation and real-world implementation—working with research partners, materials developers, and industry collaborators to help translate nanocopper technology into solutions that improve the safety and resilience of the environments in which people live, work, and receive care.
Technology Partnership
NanoCuprum collaborates with IMEX JCN, a Chile-based materials science company responsible for developing the original nanocopper antimicrobial formulations and related polymer integration technologies.
IMEX JCN has conducted extensive research into antimicrobial copper materials and their incorporation into polymers, coatings, and filtration systems. Through this partnership, NanoCuprum focuses on expanding international commercialization and developing new application platforms for nanocopper antimicrobial materials.
Our Mission
NanoCuprum’s mission is to advance practical applications of nanocopper antimicrobial technology to help reduce microbial contamination in air, water, and material environments around the world.
